"Sometimes being a brother is even better than being a superhero." - Marc Brown

And Jesus Christ is both to us and more...

Story Time.

When you were a kid, did you ever get in trouble and have a sibling or friend plead your case to your parents? Maybe you accidentally broke a lamp while playing or made a mess you didn't mean to.

Your friend, who saw what happened, steps in and says, "Please, they didn't mean to do it!" or "It's okay, don't punish them! I'll take the blame instead." They're on your side, advocating for you to someone with authority.

That’s a picture of what Jesus does for us every single day.

The Bible tells us in Romans 8:34 that Christ Jesus died for us and is now sitting in a place of honor at God's right hand, pleading for us.

Think about that—the Lord of the universe, who could have ended it all on the cross, is instead in our corner. He sees our imperfections, our mistakes, and the times we knowingly and unknowingly fall short.

And yet, He is still our advocate.

He's literally our older brother, speaking on our behalf to the Father. He's not ashamed to call us family, to associate with us, even though we grieve His heart with our sin.

It's a love that goes beyond anything we can fully grasp, a love that says, "I'm with you, and I’m on your side." He is the ultimate defender, and we have direct access to Him and His Father because of His sacrifice.

The takeaway.

Reread this as many times as you need to: you are not alone.

  • You have a voice in heaven. When we pray, we are not on our own. Jesus is right there with us, interceding and pleading our case to God the Father. He is your ultimate advocate.
  • His love is unconditional. Jesus’s love for you isn't based on your perfection. He knows your flaws and still willingly calls you His brother or sister. His sacrifice on the cross was a full payment for our sins, and His love is not conditional on our behavior.
  • You are seen and loved. You are not a burden. You are not a problem to be solved. Because of Jesus’s sacrifice, you are considered holy and without fault in God’s eyes. You have been given direct, bold, and confident access to the Creator of the universe.

Scripture for your soul.

Let this scripture minister to your spirit.

"Christ Jesus... is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us."

Romans 8:34 (NLT)

To help my soul heal from all the painful experiences I've lived through. Over the past eight years, I have grown, not only as an artist, but as a person as well. I have tested...
