Story Time.
When you were a kid, did you ever get in trouble and have a sibling or friend plead your case to your parents? Maybe you accidentally broke a lamp while playing or made a mess you didn't mean to.
Your friend, who saw what happened, steps in and says, "Please, they didn't mean to do it!" or "It's okay, don't punish them! I'll take the blame instead." They're on your side, advocating for you to someone with authority.
That’s a picture of what Jesus does for us every single day.
The Bible tells us in Romans 8:34 that Christ Jesus died for us and is now sitting in a place of honor at God's right hand, pleading for us.
Think about that—the Lord of the universe, who could have ended it all on the cross, is instead in our corner. He sees our imperfections, our mistakes, and the times we knowingly and unknowingly fall short.
And yet, He is still our advocate.

He's literally our older brother, speaking on our behalf to the Father. He's not ashamed to call us family, to associate with us, even though we grieve His heart with our sin.
It's a love that goes beyond anything we can fully grasp, a love that says, "I'm with you, and I’m on your side." He is the ultimate defender, and we have direct access to Him and His Father because of His sacrifice.
