Hey Reader, The world is crazy sometimes. Between the non-stop news cycle and the general feeling that everything is moving at 100mph, it’s easy to feel a bit overwhelmed. But overall, I still believe there are always things to be inspired by. I hope you do, too. For example, lately I've been really interested this field called Neuroaesthetics, and it's motivating me to look at my own walls a little differently. I’m discovering something that I've always kinda "knew" — that our brains aren’t just "looking" at our environments, they are actively processing it. It turns out our environment, and especially our home, isn't neutral; it’s basically an external hard drive for our internal state. I'm getting a little nerdy here, but essentially, our environment is an active tool in either renewing our mind or draining it. "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." Romans 12:2 I just love the idea that art is more than just a luxury or a "nice-to-have" decoration; it can be a spiritual utility. I’m sharing this because I think we’ve all had those moments where we’re sitting in a room that feels "off" — maybe it’s cluttered, maybe it’s beige, or maybe it’s just empty—and we can’t figure out why we’re exhausted. I'll talk more about this is in my next email, but before I let you go today, I want to share something exciting with you! Starting next month, I'll be doing a monthly drawing to give away one signed fine art print to someone in this email community! You don't have to do a single thing to be entered into the drawing — since you're on the list, you're already in the running. Consider this my gift to you for being here. Until next time. With love, grace, and gratitude, P.S. If you want to find a piece that makes your brain sigh in relief and fills your heart with truth, you can browse my work here. |

Hi Reader! Do you ever struggle with imposter syndrome? You know — that illogical feeling that you're a fraud or incompetent, despite all the evidence clearly proving otherwise? That's what I've been dealing with lately. Maybe you can relate. After my solo exhibit in February (i.e., a very big accomplishment), I felt burnt out. The ease and joy I once felt when painting had somehow been replaced with tension and stress. I knew it was time for a shift. So, after lingering around for a while, I...
Hi Reader. As you know, I am a painter... who also wears a lot of other hats. Wife. Mom. Sister. Daughter. Friend. Oh... and of course, full-time employee (for the time being at least).. Between entertaining a toddler, attending Teams meetings, picking up and dropping off said toddler, spending time with hubby, doing house chores, time with God in my studio has felt... hard. Can you relate? (Even if you aren't an artist of many hats, I feel like you can). And just like I haven't, given up on...
Hey Reader! I just got done going on a walk outside. I've always known that I feel good after a walk outside, but since learning more about how our environment affects us, it's something I've been trying to prioritize more. Something about the sunlight filtering through the trees just does it for me. …but now onto other very important business. Emailing you! This week I want to share this video I recently recorded that shares a little about the big picture of my journey and the vision I have...
