To edify the body and bring God glory...

Hey Reader.

When I create art like Into the Light and El Rai...

There's two core things I aim to do. There guide everything in my art brand.

  1. Edify the body, and
  2. Bring God glory.

All my effort, time, and skills go into these simple, yet profound goals.

These aren't just taglines, "Christian-ese", or something holy-sounding to say. It's how I make decisions, serve others through art, and am building a brand that lasts.

Why does this matter?

1 Thessalonians 5:11 says,

"Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing."

And Colossians 2:23 (NLT) instructs us,

"Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people."

(My emphasis added to both.)

edify

ed·i·fy (/ˈedəˌfī/):

to spiritually "build up," strengthen, or promote the growth of believers; to strengthen the body of Christ, bringing it to maturity and unity.

Edification doesn't always come from a sermon or an encouraging word, though it often can.

Sometimes, however, it comes from a simple smile, a kind gesture, and yes, even a beautiful piece of art that quietly reminds us that Christ is thinking of us.

(For example, see below for some coffee cup art that encouraged my recently.)

It matters to me that my art is more than just a nice piece of decor to look at.

My hope is that it encourages you and brings Christ glory.

I would love for you to hit reply and tell me what matters most to you when picking art for your space.

With love, grace, and gratitude,

P.S. If you believe that the message behind the art is just as important as its aesthetic, click here to browse some pieces to help you focus on Christ.

P.P.S I dropped my paintings off to my photographer a couple weeks ago to get some high-quality images. Once I get those back (which will hopefully be soon!), new items will be coming to my shop.

Hi Reader! Do you ever struggle with imposter syndrome? You know — that illogical feeling that you're a fraud or incompetent, despite all the evidence clearly proving otherwise? That's what I've been dealing with lately. Maybe you can relate. After my solo exhibit in February (i.e., a very big accomplishment), I felt burnt out. The ease and joy I once felt when painting had somehow been replaced with tension and stress. I knew it was time for a shift. So, after lingering around for a while, I...

Hi Reader. As you know, I am a painter... who also wears a lot of other hats. Wife. Mom. Sister. Daughter. Friend. Oh... and of course, full-time employee (for the time being at least).. Between entertaining a toddler, attending Teams meetings, picking up and dropping off said toddler, spending time with hubby, doing house chores, time with God in my studio has felt... hard. Can you relate? (Even if you aren't an artist of many hats, I feel like you can). And just like I haven't, given up on...

Hey Reader! I just got done going on a walk outside. I've always known that I feel good after a walk outside, but since learning more about how our environment affects us, it's something I've been trying to prioritize more. Something about the sunlight filtering through the trees just does it for me. …but now onto other very important business. Emailing you! This week I want to share this video I recently recorded that shares a little about the big picture of my journey and the vision I have...
